EU funding for the renovation of the former school of commerce
SLOVENIA, October 6 - As part of the EU-funded project, the Urban Municipality of Kranj will renovate the former school of commerce in the Planina area in Kranj, which will then be used for primary education. The building will house new classrooms, a small gym, a school library, and a distribution kitchen. The project also includes the purchase and development of additional land for a school playground, where playground equipment for pupils in grades 1 to 3 will be installed. The investment will contribute to the revitalisation of the city centre, the renovation of degraded areas, improved accessibility, sustainable use, and the strengthening of the educational and social environment within the local community.
The project is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, priority Sustainable development of local areas and pursues the specific objective Fostering the integrated and inclusive social, economic and environmental development, culture, natural heritage, sustainable tourism, and security in urban areas.
The project, worth €2,865,225.43, will receive a contribution of €921,621.50 from the European Regional Development Fund.
