France Condemns Israeli Attack on Tehran Prison
In a message posted on X, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot described the strike as “unacceptable” and emphasized that it endangered French nationals Cecile Kohler and Jacques Paris.
Both were detained in Iran in 2022 while visiting as tourists and accused of espionage, allegations they deny. Kohler’s sister, Noemie, criticized the attack as “irresponsible,” stating it put the lives of inmates “in mortal danger.”
Barrot also mentioned that he had spoken with his Iranian counterpart and was assured that Kohler and Paris were safe and unharmed following the incident.
